Our Story
So how did this all start…?
Hello - my name is Jules. I am the proud hooman of Dotty and Yogi, toy miniature schnauzers. All of my life I have grown up with dogs in the family, and it’s fair to say my floofs have their hooman wrapped around their little paws!
When I was growing up I spent many hours in my Dad’s sweet shop, watching him serve his customers and create trusted relationships and, it’s fair to say, this was all done because of community. Everyone knew my Dad, and Dad knew everyone - here is where I fell in love with retail and sales.
I then spent over 34 years of my career working in sales, including setting up my very own retail business, Truly Madly Baby, when my son was just 3 months old. This business was all about great baby products and building a community with mums who could not only buy the products, but sell them too. In a moment of madness! I took this business into Dragons’ Den, where I won investment from Peter Jones. You can see the pitch ‘best bits’ here.
I ran this business for 3 years and had great success with enquiries to go global in year 3. Sadly it wasn’t to end as I had hoped and the dream was over sooner than I had planned. My TEDx talk gives you an insight into what happened next.
For the last 7 years I have run my sales consultancy, Live it Love it Sell it, where I coach and train everything I have learnt about sales and business. I love it, but I was still missing retail. It was time to add retail to my portfolio.
So what lights me up now…? Well probably not baby products as my son is now 19! But my floofs are just a joy. My love of dogs brings me great happiness and excitement, and I now have the opportunity to build a retail business and community celebrating the unconditional love they bring us.
